Learning From My Gambling Failures

First to clarify the reason I wrote this essay. I have been betting on the web or at physical casinos for many years. I have discovered, the fixation can grab a hold of you and you won’t even realize it until you are broke. Especially if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through countless tens of thousands of dollars in only a tiny period of time and still on occasion, I’ll go a bit too far. It appears you are just having a blast until you decide to be aware of your loss and the guilt settles in, and then you keep telling yourself "I can get it back" repeatedly. It never works. Then you feel sick in your stomach and the more you attempt the faster you are deprived.
When you see that you’re ahead, STAY on the UP! When you start to be beaten, don’t say to yourself, "well perhaps one more" and again and again, believe me, this logic RARELY ever works. Say you are betting on slot games, have a bankroll put aside prior to beginning your play. Don’t exceed that limit, no matter how tempting. If you happen to win, put that in a different canister. Don’t risk your winnings no matter what. As soon as you have played through your primary set limit, bail out. Leave, regardless if it’s on the internet or at a brick and mortar betting house, do not stick around. Always remember, there will be another day, another time.
Keep in mind, betting is assumed to be exciting not exhausting, nauseating work! If you aren’t having fun yourself, you do not belong there. If youcan not afford the loss, don’t even begin.
