There are many casinos located in the state, most on moored riverboats. The biggest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian casino in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gaming area, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, like vingt-et-un, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; as well as 3 dining rooms, daily shows, and gaming lessons. Another big Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 eatery’s. There are numerous other dominant Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a water based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa river based casino, The Isle of Capri, is available all day and night, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river boat casino in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday vingt-et-un tournaments.

Iowa casinos offer a great amount of tax income to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of a good many commonwealth wide projects. Tourism has increased at an accelerated percentage along with the requirement for processors and a gain in working people. Iowa casinos have been instrumental to the growth of the market, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
