There are a number gambling halls located in the commonwealth, the biggest number being on docked barges. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and 4 dining rooms. There are numerous other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. water based gambling den in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday 21 tournaments.

Iowa casinos provide a great deal of tax revenue to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has permitted the funding of many state wide activities. Visitors have grown at an accelerated rate along with the requirement for companies and an increase in employment. Iowa gambling dens have been helpful to the advancement of the market, and the affection for betting in Iowa is across the board.
