There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat casino, features 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around vacation and hotel building that features numerous comforts accompanying the casino, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
